Bible Translation by Josh James

This is the online home of my translation. Translating the New Testament is a slow process, so it will be some time before it is finished and displayed in its entirety on this page. However, I have already translated from James to Jude, and I have only ten chapters of John's Revelation left. There are also a few chapters from Romans, I Corinthians, and Hosea. More will be posted as I have the opportunity to type the translation of each book.

The format will be more reading-friendly, because I am not dividing the books into chapters and verses in the way that most copies of the Bible do today. It will have no verse divisions whatsoever, and the chapter divisions will only be labeled at the top of the screen, so that it allows you to remember your place more easily, but does not detract from the fluidity of the book. Because of our chapter/verse divisions, many times we forget that we are reading personal letters, memoirs, or narratives, and see the Bible as only a rule book treated like the law ("Section 3, paragraph 16 of book John"). While the Bible's rules are necessary for our continuance in Christ, seeing the Bible as only a rule book can stifle the excitement and profundity that comes from reading it without interruption. Try it, and you'll see what I mean!
